Dr. Aryafar joined San Diego Imaging Medical Group in 2019. He is Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology with the American Board of Radiology with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Vascular and Interventional Radiology as well as American Board of Preventive Medicine in Clinical Informatics. Dr. Aryafar earned his BS degree at University of California San Diego in Bioengineering. He graduated Chicago Medical School in 2005 and attended University of California San Diego for combined Residency/Fellowship DIRECT pathway. He served as Associate Clinical Professor at UC San Diego for 9 years before joining San Diego Imaging and as Vice Chair of Informatics for 4 years. He was elected Fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology and as a Reviewer for the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, ARRS, and CVIR. Dr. Aryafar has avid interests in the treatment of Portal Hypertension with one of the first studies using intravascular ultrasound to significantly improve the technique for Transjugular Intrahepatic Portal-systemic shunts. He is also a member of the Vascular Lesions Conference at Rady’s Children’s hospital and is devoted to the treatment of vascular malformations and anomalies in pediatrics and adults.
