Dr. Zapala joined San Diego Imaging Group in 2024. He is board certified with the American Board of Radiology, with added qualifications in Pediatrics. Dr. Zapala received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University. He completed his medical degree and Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He completed his transitional internship at Scripps Mercy Hospital. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at UCSD. Following his residency, he completed his fellowship training at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School. After finishing his training and prior to joining SDI, Dr. Zapala was an associate professor of Radiology in the Pediatric Radiology section at UCSF from 2015 to 2024.
